The Big Moo Needs Yoo! August 14, 2005
Seth Godin and the co-authors for his new book The Big Moo are looking to sell the galleys to people who will give them to who will buy the full price book in large quantities. This seems like a good way to test in the viral aspect to any purple cow and profit while doing it but on the other hand it also feels kind of weird to me.
I could easily buy 50 books and start handing them out to my Exec friends on the train or any number of my clients but its the hard sell without reading the book first. I have no idea as of yet whether the book is worthy to pass on or if its complete rubbish. Don’t get me wrong, I have complete faith that with authors such as Godin, Gupta, Peters and the like that this will be a must have for all organizations who want to be remarkable.
Ultimately their goal is to deliver a book that is “designed to change the way organizations dealt with being remarkable”. I already have a sneaking suspicion that they have done just that!
